Retail sales quantity in Turkey fell by 2 percent year-on-year in January 2017, following an upwardly revised 2.8 percent fall in the preceding month. It was the fourth straight month of decline, as sales dropped for: Automotive fuels (-6.9 percent from -12.3 percent in December) and other non-food items (-1.3 percent from -0.4 percent). By contrast, sales of food, beverages and tobacco increased 0.6 percent (from 1.1 percent in December). On a monthly basis, retail sales fell by 0.6 percent, the same speed as in December. Retail Sales YoY in Turkey averaged 5.72 percent from 2006 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 24.70 percent in December of 2010 and a record low of -5.90 percent in June of 2009.
